Hi all, my mother asked me if I could find out any info on this piece of costume jewellery gifted to her from her Aunt approx 40 years ago. It was gold plated once. She believes it may be Victorian/Edwardian and is unsure of the stone in the centre. The Filigree seems quite gothic to me. I’m afraid I know very little about Jewellery and was wondering if any of the wonderful experts could shine some light on this little heirloom.

It is a very attractive pendant. Does a magnet attract? Is it heavy or more light in the hand?

Odd for all of the gold plating to have completely worn off, there is usually some of it left in areas that receive no rubbing (inside of scrolling, etc.). Is she sure it was gold plated?

I'm sure our jewelry mavens will chime in! Can you please check if it has any markings at all, on the back or maybe on the ring? If so, can you please post a close-up photo of that too?
Thanks for getting the ball rolling
None that I could see, I did have a look with a magnifying glass but will check again just in case.

@Rue_de_la_Paix
It’s not magnetic at all. I did notice some of the gold plate to the back and mother is certain it was gold plated.
However she now thinks it may be silver (gold plated silver, possibly a low grade silver?) as she has used some silver polish on part of it, bottom left. You can see some remnants of the gold plate close to it a little better because of the contrast now. picture attached
Thanks so much for your time :)
