Mother of groom needs dress!!

Natural dirty blond, blue eyed mother of groom needs dress before July 22, 2006.

Perhaps, some of you may have something hidden in the recesses of your closet. I like non-stretchy, form fitting (with a bit of give), just below the knee, oriental style dresses (without long slits), sheaths or suits (but not with short jackets). Preferrably silk, or natural fibres, brocade, but would consider other. Lighter colours preferred - whites, blues, pinks, greens, but would also consider reds, blacks...

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would write this for the world to see, but here are my exact measurements. The dress should be at least 1" bigger all around for ease of movement.

Bust 43"
Waist 36"
Hips 44"

Thanks all!!!

Okay, finally got some pictures for you. If you don't like this, it won't hurt my feelings. It is a little big with the dress bust of 46 inches, waist 45 and hips 50, however, it would be simple to alter all the way down since the dress is not lined. It has a back metal zipper and I am thinking 60s. I haven't measured the jacket yet but it would be a little larger but probably made to hang loose. It is totally lined.

Thought at first this may have been handmade but you can see where a tag has been cut out of the jacket at neckline. The material is just beautiful.

I can see where the seams at back and sides have been stressed by someone who really needed to be a larger size.:) Recommendation would be to reenforce the seams and this is why it would not be hard to take in a little. You would just have to take out the hem first. There is one little area at hem which would have to be retacked anyway.

Again, if you do not like this, it is fine. At least I have pictures and am ready to list.

With the exception of underwear and socks, I prefer any item with history. I do resort to new, once in while, when I'm desparate. I can't wait til the seamstress gets a hold of this!

How easy is that, one thread and your fixed up! All that time saved looking around shops, more free now to do your listings and pay for it.
It looks very nice and even better on you, a wedding must be plenty of pictures to post here we will be waiting.

Yes, it is great, Paul - I look forward to posting pics. But I'm still on the hunt, as I'd prefer to have two (even three) lined up instead of one, just in case anything happens.

Deborah, glad you've found something! But, as a backup if you need one, I have a blue brocade 50's sheath dress with fitted waist, to fit your measurements perfectly, I believe! I bought it for myself (I'm almost exactly your measurements, and this fits beautifully), but it's been hanging in my closet for months, and I've been thinking hard on selling it, because at this rate, I'll never have anyplace to wear it! It is more fitted thru the waist & hips than Linda's, but proportioned such that we fuller-figured women can wear it & look fab! If you want to see photos, please U2U me.
