Ms. Sugar Dress

Hi

I bought a dress from the brand "Ms. Sugar", I've been researching online to find out the age and everything I've seen said 1980s. But I really don't think my dress is "80s". It's made of seersucker and has a 50s/60s look to it.

Do you know anything about the brand?

Thanks.

Hello,

Good afternoon. The term "Ms." came into common use in the language in the early 1970s, so your dress must be later than that date. There was a brief 1950s fashion revival in the 1980s.

We would need to see a photo in order to give you more information. There may be a member here who has seen the label, or who could search for more information on it. You could also try to Google, as you know. It is likely a brief lived label, a made up name used for 1 season's line of clothing, put out by a larger garment manufacturer.

There was a Ms. Sugar that was trademarked in 1990, which I located at TESS (Trademark and Patent online).

Hi, cute dress! I'm no expert, but the cap sleeve and mandarin collar styling definitely came back strong in the 90's. I owned a few blouses with those features at the time.
