I've been participating in a vintage knit/crochet-along over on ravelry. In this particular KAL/CAL everyone is doing patterns from the 1920s as a 100 year celebration in 2020. I thought you guys would appreciate it too.
I chose this crochet pattern for a 'spencer' from 1922, described in the pattern book as "A modern version of an old-time spencer - a cherished garment for "sharp" between season days, worn under coat or cape". Weirdly, 100 years later, it still looks quite modern!
