My girl bought her first vintage dress

with her own $$!

Yes, it's an 80s prom dress, but she's 11 and still thinks of herself as a potential princess (it could happen!)

She'd been eyeing it in my shop, and having just spent money on shoes for her (wms sz 10!) I said I couldn't pay for it. So she saved allowance and did a few chores for her grandma, and paid out of her own pocket.
She wouldn't take it off all day! It fit her almost perfectly, except that she's still a little "light" on the boob-age. As it should be.

Aww Eileen, this warms my heart! + you made her earn it = Love for the first (?) vintage piece. She looks like a Princess! And I'm sure she will 'grow' into it faster than you can blink!

What a lovely girl you have there, Eileen! And she is so thrilled with her vintage princess dress! How cool is that? And to have earned it herself makes it all that much more special!

Thanks, all! We're having the best summer - I'm trying to take extra time off from the store just to hang out with her because, as Lizzie said, eleven is a great age and she still enjoys time with her mom so I'm taking advantage of it while I can.

She also modeled a teensy pink eyelet dress and jacket set for me, because it is so small it must have been meant for someone her age.
This is a yard sale preview:
