My vintage haul!!!! MORE PICTURES!

Hi All,
I couldn't wait to get on and tell you about my great finds today. I went to an estate sale today and oh man was it a good one. The lady had so much that I had to go back later in the afternoon as they were bringing in another car load. She had high quality clothes and most look to be unworn. Many still have the tags. I spent money like a drunken sailor :hysterical: but it sure was fun!! I bought about 35 dresses and sets, some shoes & purses. They are bringing in another load of clothes tommorrow but my husband won't let me buy anymore. It's making me almost sad enough to cry. It's hard to know all that good stuff is there but I can't have it! Here are a few pics I took really quick. I'm off to bed but will try to post more pics later. Please pray that my husband has a change of heart and will let me buy some more tommorrow! :saint:

Oh. My. Goodness!

How could you NOT go back for more? Especially if the pricing was good?
I have one suggestion for your DH -- STAY OUT OF THE WOMAN'S WAY!

You gotta buy stock when you can find it -- you may not get another opportunity for who-knows-how-long?!?! With the quality and uniqueness of the items you've shown here, it would take hell or highwater to keep me away!

What lovely lovely items! I'm jealous!

Thanks guys!! Most everything was priced from $5 to $25. I paid $10 for the blue dress and $35 for the black dress with lace bodice (it's an Emma Domb by the way). Many of the dresses were less than $10. I'm going to try one more time this morning to talk him into letting me go back. My stepmom is putting a check in the mail today to cover anything else I spend. :love008: The thing is my husband is having a hard time seeing the money I can make on these clothes. He just sees the debt, ya know. Keep your fingers crossed!!

What a great haul!!

I would risk divorce for this one! Or have someone buy for me. Tell him you are just going with a friend?? Tell him she wants you to help pick it out and then bring it home and tell him she also wants you to sell it for her??

Girls have got to be sneaky when we have to.:)

Go get em!!!!!!!!!!

You have some very sweet dresses. Mr. dh needs to be reminded that in order to make money, one must first spend it!

Well, after some very good arguments on my part, my husband begrudgingly agreed to let me go back. I'm so glad I did! The ladies from Denver were there when they brought the load of clothes in. We were very nice and sort of divided things up so everyone would leave happy. Then they left and the people handling the estate brought in another load!! This time I was the only one there and I got first pick of everything. Plus, she said that since I spent so much yesterday, she would mark things cheap for me today! Yippee!
Here are my totals:
1 Hat
2 Prs Gloves
3 Shoes
5 Purses
6 Blouses
11 Tailored Suits (40's/50's)
65 Dresses or Dress Sets

I spent a grand over the last 2 days (oh my gosh, my blood pressure just rose when I typed that). I will be busy busy busy getting things listed and I will put a post in the sneak preview when things are up. Thanks everyone for your support!

Wow--looks like you found the mother lode! :clapping:

What blow-away gorgeous items (please let me know when you list that purse with the umbrella holster--it is SO cool I can't stand it...)

Good luck with your husband. You should let him read this thread--maybe seeing how unanimously we all think the stuff is too fantastic not to go back for more will have the desired effect...

That's wonderful - and indeed - I know the sick feeling spending more than $1,000 - but it sure was worth it for me and sounds as if it will be for you. List some of the really good stuff right away and that will make your DH feel better. Congrats and good luck. Amanda

I'm just thrilled for you, Carrie. Coming across an estate sale like that is a dream that may never happen for me...but at least you shared your experience with me!

Hi Carrie,

Thank goodness your dh came to his senses and let you go back, these kinds of opportunities do not arise very often
65 dresses, WOW, now that is nice load.

We spent over $1000.00 today too on buying for resale. It was not all on vintage clothing, other saleable items as well but I did get a few very nice vintage clothing items too. So I can commiserate on your cash outlay, it always feels painful!

Can't wait to see more photos, already love the tote bag with the umbrella and those gold pointy shoes and the 40s peplum dress....

Good luck with you selling, I'm sure you will reap a nice profit from this haul!

Carrie, so glad you were able to go back.......what a fabulous sounding (and from what we can see, looking)
haul! Please post more pics as you go along.

Sue
