Wow! If anyone can get to Pullman, Washington, this exhibit is a must. It travels to San Jose later on, so some of you will have closer access.

I was really thrilled to meet Alfred Shaheen’s daughter and son-in-law, Camille Shaheen-Tunberg and Bill Tunberg, at the exhibit’s opening. They were delightful, and very generous with their time and thoughts. I thought you all might like to know that Camille lit up at the mention of the VFG!

If you’d like to see my report and photos, please visit my blog.

I must take a photo of the dress tomorrow...I really shouldn't have mentioned it without a pic!

Looks fabulous, Maggie -

Great photos and a great blog. Love the photo of you in that dress, too!

According to the article I posted from the Honolulu Star-Advertiser earlier this week, the exhibit, started its tour in California at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles before traveling to Michigan and Washington. It is scheduled to be shown at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center later this year.

I hope the exhibit is shown in Honolulu next year - which is what Camille Shaheen-Tunberg is quoted as saying would be an appropriate "home coming."

Ah, thank you for clarifying the exhibit's itinerary Linn. I hope it does indeed "go home."

Just to show you the dress out from under the coat:

I've collected the Shaheen's I've had in a Flickr set, and am always surprised at the variety! (Wish I still had all the 50s pieces...)

Loved the photostream. You look fantastic in that dress!!! Yesterday when I read your blog I thought the green dress (the one that is new to your website) was a Shaheen - didn't look closely enough. (Very cute dress BTW!)

I especially love the Shaheen swim suit and swim suit sets. I own one Shaheen:
