Mystery Miss Elaine tag

Could anyone please date this? As helpful as the label resources on this site are, this particular version isn't shown there. There is no care tag or union tag. Thank you! (The tag I'm holding out of the way just says "size 36" and "no. 84040.")

Hi, a photo of the whole garment would be useful. If it is Miss Elaine then I assume it is sleepwear, in rayon satin? If I had to stab at a guess, I'd say 1930's as the logo is in the same style as 'Miss Elaine Originals' of that time. The Miss Elaine name and logo was first used as a trade mark in August 1936, if that's a guide.

Like I said earlier, if you get a spare minute then whizz a photo of the whole gown(?) over so we can have a look.

Sorry for the wrinkles, I wore it last night, and for the kid stuff in the background, my daughter has the only full-length mirror!

Absolute bloody disgrace. Go stand in the naughty corner, lol!

It's fabulous! I still think IMHO it is mid to late-30's. It'll scrub up well too - imagine how fab it would look if it didn't look like it had just been trampled by a herd of bison. Nice find!

Emms ;-)

I found it at an ordinary thrift store for only $6 so I was pretty pleased, thanks for the confirmation of what I suspected!

I'd be completely chuffed if I got a pair of 30's jimjams for $6 - that's just over a fiver. I suppose selling them to me for $6.50 (with free shipping) is out of the question then?

Nice to hear from you, Emma. I worried about you.
Marian

Its a bit too busy on all fronts I'm afraid, Marian, but all is fine and although I don't dip into these forums as often as I did (did I just hear cheering?!) I return every now and then. Like malaria...
