Name that fabric: diagonal cord knit jersey?

doesn't seem to match anything in fabrics-with-clear-diagonal-ribs
mainly because the diagonal is clearly 45 degree, a definate chunky cord - 12 per inch if you go across. Does knit corduroy exist? or is it never called corduroy when diagonal?
Close up you can see the cords are made of tiny knit just like jersey.
Sorry I don't know how to upload a better picture, the original photo is better but photobucket seems to reduce the quality.

no labels it's a home made garment but yes I would agree it is a polyester/wool fabric the sort used on many a late 60's/early 70's knit dress.

if its a knit, is it just a fine rib knit? that has been cut on the diagonal, rather than having diagonal stripes?

I wondered about that - here is a photo of the hem, reverse side on the bottom, the knit appears to be vertical on both sides while the cord or rib? is diagonal...

Thank you Jonathan. I've put it in my listing.
Yep, twill knit. Not easy to find but a great fabric to own as it lasts a good long time.

You're right about that, I know this must have been worn as it looks as though some underarm guards have been removed, yet the dress looks brand new!
