I have no idea what these costumes were about. They were standing on a corner when I first saw them. By the time I got the camera out, they had crossed the street and were running--it had started to rain.

Yes, I thought of cousin It too - an Addams Family show perhaps? Doesn't explain why there are two of them.

Great link Linda - amazing costumes. Nick Cave (one of Melbourne's favourite sons) is highly creative but these have surprised me.

I was in discussion the other day about how the hairy jumper (or sweater for those outside of the UK) appears to be making a come back here. Topshop and most of the major women's chainstores are selling the 80's style 'eyelash' yarn tops in any colour you can imagine. I can't imagine ever wearing one...personally!
