Need a Good Title For This Dress

Hi everyone,

This is a Dalani II dress. What STYLE of dress is this? I need a good title, but nothing is coming to mind other than 70s maxi dress..is there a name for this cut/style? I think its lovely!

Are the sleeves open on the bottom/underside or are they just really flowy so are laying very differently one side to the other?

Your model is beautiful, by the way. I also like how she is holding the dress out one way and her slightly assymetrical hair is leaning slightly the other.

I would call this an at-home or hostess gown; I think day dress when you call it a maxi dress. I'm not a seller so I could be wrong.

Some help with describing: the neck edge appears to have a binding and the shape is a peasant or gypsy neckline. The fabric looks like a scarf and it's nicely matched. Skirt appears to be cut on bias. Claire

The sleeves are open on the bottom. And the front piece is actually split in two (dont know if you can tell that from the photo). Its two panels with a solid black underneath. I love it. :-)
Thanks everyone!

It is a hostess gown, I would first say, agreeing with Claire.
For sure, you can creative from there. And you are the lovely model, that much I know! I really like the way that you are showing the dress. Everything looks great on you!

Yes, thats me. I model, hubby takes the photos. Cheap labor. :embaressed:

I'd call it a gown since it seems more for evening wear than day wear - it's stunning, I would call the sleeves butterfly or bell sleeves - but that's just me :) Beautiful pics! You're a great model!

I so agree with everyone about the boho, gypsy, peasant influence on this--and about your lovely modeling! And the dress is stunning!

But I would not hesitate to call this a maxi dress as well as a gown or hostess dress/gown. Back in "the day," when these were popular and I was wearing them, we called them maxi dresses. There were your maxi day dresses--although nobody called them "day" dresses then, but you'd wear them to school. But this stye we would wear to dances, weddings, entertaining at home, etc., and still call them maxi dresses. And apparently "maxi dress" is very well searched these days.
