Need fabric help on dress

Hello all,

I have this beautiful black dress that I believe is either 40's or 50's (metal side zip) it has a holey fabric. Would this too be considered eyelet?

I would call it eyelet... Pretty neckline on that! (And would it be a larger size, by any chance?)

Hi Anne...thanks for the help! It has a 42" bust and 30" waist...on the larger side.

Should do very nicely for you, then (a bit too small thru the waist for me, or I'd jump at it!). The buttons and satin trim dress it up a bit more than many of similar age and style one finds around. Also these tend to have the straighter skirt, but this looks as if it has some flare to it? If you have a not-too-full crinni to put under it, it would add some pizzazz...

I have a not to frilly white crinni...would that looks silly under it?

Ah, yes--that gives it more shape and body. I like it!!!! And it lets you see that sort of scalloped pattern to the eyelet better.

I just adore those sort of "barely there" dresses~ the open or sheer fabric made "decent" with a slip. So innocently sexy!
