Hello! I need help dating this awesome Camp corset. The label has dates from 1920's up to 1930...does this mean it's from the 20's or is that just the patent dates? I've included some pictures. Thanks!!!

I had one just like that, but not in very good shape. These were apparently a very popular style. I fretted over the date of mine for awhile, but found several examples online, and if I recall, these were made over quite a span of time. I'm thinking this would be 30s or 40s. But I seem to remember they were made into the 50s, even though they look quite a bit more dated. They are not hard to find online in doing a search; have you tried that yet?

Hey J! I did some extensive Google-ing and searched through the historical newspapers. It seems to be late 20's or 30's. All the corsets from the 40's and up have a different label.

The last date on the patent label looks like it's 1938, so if that's the case, it can't be earlier than that. Are there any more dates under the label? It looks like the printing keeps going.

I posted recently about fan-laced corsets. I found this great link which has some good info on it.

They can be fairly hard to date because they're conservative in style to appeal to an older woman. The one in my post is probably from the 1970s but yours is much older - I would say late '30s-1940s, depending on whether there are any more patent numbers. There are quite a few of them!
