Need help dating a hat plz

Hello!

I have a wonderful hat that I need help dating. I feel that it is from the 1940s but want to get your opinion. The maker is Gage Brother & Co. Also, is there a term for this type of hat? Is it a picture hat or is there a more accurate name for this style?
