Need help dating a long velvet coat

This is a beautiful long, black velvet coat. It is lined in satin that itself is lined with what seems to be a cotton muslin perhaps. There is a covered button at the waist with two velvet loops, one on each side. There is a hook and eye at the neck. The sleeves are puffed and padded. There are no labels. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like a 40s opera coat to me, shoulder padding and high neck. Though I'm not an expert. That bow is so chic ! Very lovely.

This evening coat is from the 1930's. c1936 -1938. Those lovely bows were a popular feature and Juliet style sleeves. It's in good condition.

It's a great piece and those shoulders! I live in hope of finding something like that in one of my local charity shops. Well done for saving it.
