Need help dating hat and reticule

Okay, I have two items that I can generally date, but I'd like help getting dates more precisely. The first is a reticule. I know these were in fashion from the late 1800s to the 1920s (and earlier, but I'm pretty sure the earliest mine could be is late 19th century, and it's probably more likely early 20th century). It's black silk with beading.

The second item is a hat that is quite unusual. It's fake leopard print fur with a flower decoration. I'm guessing 50s or perhaps late 40s, but I'm not 100% sure.

Here's my flickr photostream (they are the first 4 images):

Hi,

The hat is darling. Looks like rabbit fur dyed to imitate leopard, and is nicely made. You are correct in dating it to the early 1950's time period. The yellow rose does not look to be original to the hat, but was added later. I can't be 100% sure from just a photo, but the flower doesn't look like flowers made and used in millinery back then, it looks much later. From a design standpoint, the hat would look better to me without the yellow rose.

I really like it!

I agree, the hat is adorable but it looks like someone just safety pinned the flower on the hat at a later time period. My guess is that original floral decoration would have been sewn on. But if you are happy with the rose, keep it on!
