need help dating jacket -- 1960s???

I need help dating this jacket. The fabric is a silky, smooth fabric with textured "bubbles" that feels possibly like nylon or a nylon blend? The jacket is fully lined. The only tag/label is the department store tag (pictured). The large buttons on the front are fabric covered and have black metal backs. I'm thinking 1960s, but it's unique enough that I'm not entirely sure...

What a lovely jacket. It looks older to me than 50s...that really doesn't look like a 60s label.
I'm having difficulty with dating it from the photos...I'm getting more of a 30s feel for this one.
Let's see what others think of it. The stitching looks to be hand done with that "puckered" effect.

I'd call that stitched pattern honeycomb. It's lovely! It almost looks like quilting, but I gather ther is only one layer - nothing in between two fine layers correct?
The metal cover buttons often have a manufacturer's mark on the back if you haven't already checked.

Thanks for the help. I originally thought 1930s (because the label looks older and because I acquired it with other older pieces), but then I got confused by the fabric. If it's older, do you all know what the fabric might be? It's a slick, crisp fabric. The fabric is puckered with stitching (yes, Melanie, it looks like quilting, though I think it's only one layer--though it's hard to tell because the lining is attached to the coat).

I looked at the back of the buttons, and there are no marks or any other writing.

Barbara, I can't tell for sure if it's been shortened. My best guess is no. The lining is attached to the jacket, and it looks well done--my best guess is that that's how the jacket was originally constructed.
