I have an older homesewn dress. At first I thought it was 1920s, but since the shape is a bit more tentlike than straight (bust is 44", waist is 50", and hips are 62"), I'm not sure about my dating. I got it with a bunch of garments from the 10s-30s, and it feels "older." Dress has a few pintucks/darts at the front and back shoulders, and a lace collar and cuffs (feels like cotton lace). Only fasteners are snaps at the sleeve cuffs. Fabric feels like a substantial cotton. Thoughts?

(I've included a couple interior construction photos--one is of the back neck, including the collar, and the other is of the hem with some seaming)

I associate that style of lace collar with 1930's garments and the print of the main fabric looks right for that decade too. There are also darts in the back to give shape to the waist, which I wouldn't expect in a 1920's dress. It doesn't look matronly to me so I wonder if it is not a maternity dress from the 1930's?

Again Melanie scores with her knowledge and attention to details. It could indeed be a maternity dress. Hard to find in good condition from that decade.
