Need help dating this babyblue polkadot dress with slipdress that has no labels

Hi,

This dress is actually two pieces. The dress itself and a blue slipdress. The dress has three little buttons on the front and a side zipper of Gusum. The slipdress also has a side zipper. The collar of the dress is strenghtend with something yellow.

I would like to know the age of this dress and the fabric that is used.

it looks like a 50s dress to me, quite often they made a matching slip to go with it, also having a side zip.
the yellow at the back of the neck is from sweat sorry to say, its probably got stiffener inside the fabric to make the collar stand up but it would have been white once. you can wash the dress to remove the markings but the stiffener will still be yellow so you may need to open the collar, remove it, replace and resew the neckline.

also is that a press stud at the back of the neck? if so once upon a time it may have had an additional collar to add to it, probably white. it originally had longer sleeves, probably short or 3/4 sleeves, and these have been taken out to make it sleeveless, you can see the replacement stitching on the navy blue trim round the arm holes.

from what i can see the fabric looks like a crepe rayon. its very fine and sheer and that why they made a stronger slip.
