Hi!

I got this coat from an uncle of my dad. The coat belonged to his mother. He thinks it's from 1930 or 1940. I'm really curious how old this coat could be and I hope someone can tell me more based on the photos.

It is a wool coat. Fully lined, rather short sleeves, closes with two buttons at the front and has a beautiful collar with sewed on rhinestones? No labels. Plus size.

Measurements:
Bust: 22 inch
Waist: 21 inch
Length: 43 inch
Shoulder to shoulder: 17 inch

It looks late 40s-early 50s to me 0 that wonderful soft wool, the embroidery style, the full cut with satin lining, even the buttons... I would have thought 1948-54, although rhinestone trims are more typical of early-mid 50s, so maybe more like 1952-54

Is it me or have the sleeves been let down? maybe it had turn up cuffs originally? It could have been an evening coat, to be worn with satin gloves.
