I was given this dress from a 60+ year old friend. She had it custom made in NYC for a wedding. She called it a garden party dress. The only tags are attached to the zipper, and seem to be torn/missing.

It is lime green, metal zipper, metal hook/eye closures at waist and wrists. The lining is heavy plastic-type feeling material.

Does the hanger hold any clues? Wondering about value, as I'd like to sell it. Pictures are shown here.

Thanks for any help. ❤️

Hi, very pretty dress. love the color! From those tags and union label it's commercially made not custom made. Maybe she purchased it from a bridal shop and had it altered? That is a possibility, common at the time. But it's definitely commercially made. The union label there - from what I can see - would date it to the 70s, earlier side of that decade from the style. About valuation, we don't give them here on VFG but you can now look around and research knowing it's a 70s maxi dress. Really pretty too!

Thank you! Yes, possibly a bridal shop...she had a hard time remembering details. Does it look like a Gunne Sax?
