Need help dating this navy blue hat

Hi,

I've bought this hat yesterday and I like to get to know more about it. Maybe someone can tell me how old it is?
It has no label with the size or the brand.

I would have said 1980's, it looks like many I have from that period, it was probably commercially made and the owner removed the labels from irritation or due to their size.

I'm very fond of these little 80s veil hats. It might have had a length of elastic to hold it on?

The elastic would be sewn though the ribbon inside, might not be easy to see it had been removed. Does it stay on easily without any?

I've seen these hats without labels so it may never have had one.

It does not stay easily on the head, so maybe there was an elastic that is removed.

Yes exactly!

Over the years the elastic often deteriorates so it gets removed. But it's easy to sew on another piece.

The elastic goes at the back under your hair, and you can match the elastic to your hair colour so it's very discreet. I love wearing hats that way, you can also alter the angle they sit at, and they stay in place.
