I saw this hanging on a rack in a thrift shop by my new apartment. I immediately feel in love with it and took it home! The style appears to be 1910's or 20's, but I'm really not sure. There are no tags or any kind of markings to help me identify it. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Is it home made? The lace is more typical of the late Edwardian/pre WW1 period - is it a heavy silk charmeuse or a light silk pongee, or something else?

It feels more like a pongee silk, and the stitching doesn't appear to be hand stitched. I'm not familiar enough with fabrics and stitching to do proper research. I can take a detail picture of the seams and stitching if that would help?

I'm leaning towards late Edwardian as well with the corset cover-y looking aspect. And you found that in a thrift shop?! GREAT score! Wow!

ps- love the name ;)

I know, right?! It was one of those moments when your jaw drops and your heart starts to race...then you snatch it up and hold it tightly against your chest while running towards the cash register. :singing:

Could you show us some detail of the construction? Close-ups of inside the bodice area and the sleeve cuffs and seam finishing inside at the shoulders. A close-up of the front of the bodice at the opening would also be great.

Thank you.

Yes, as Jonathan suggested, this is home-made. The lace trim has been dipped to match the dress fabric. I'm not sure what period it is trying to represent and I actually think it might be a theatrical costume piece and possibly made much later than the late Edwardian period.

Your detailed photos are great.

I am so happy to see the work devoted to the making of this. Simply wonderful.
