Need Help Identifying 40\'s Hat Style

Hi Everyone!
I got some great vintage goodies at an estate sale today. This hat was in a box of $2 "junk", I was so excited when I dug it out. It is a black wool felt, very floppy with a pointed crown. The underside of the brim is in a red velvety material. The tag says "New York Creation 22". The other side says "Mfd Under Fair Labor Standards, Consumers Protection Label". It looks early 40's to me but I'm not sure. Does anyone know the name of this style of hat? - You can't say witches hat 'cause I already thought of that...;)

As I remember chris having a hat with the same label

But I am still no help with the shape! It's almost like a bonnet style but not.. hmm. I shall think on!

The label IS the same as the one in the thread you sent. It is simple with no graphics. I love the one on the VFG Label List. The cityscape graphic is so neat!

It almost looks like a beehive hat with a brim.

(Darn, I was going to say witch hat, too. )
