For the past few months, I have been obsessed with finding this shirt. Multiple reverse image websites have been used, but nothing useful has come up. The only thing I know is that tom cruise was photographed wearing it a few times from 1985–88 and there’s small paisleys in the pattern. Any information about this shirt will
be greatly appreciated.

No, I'm afraid I don't have a clue as to the brand. I believe the shirt has a drape that looks like rayon.

Dearle28, it might be easier to find a similar fabric and commission a shirt to be made up.

If it was worn by Tom Cruise, it may be that it's a custom-make or even a costume from a film (or made by a costume department for him).

Shirts are a standard style, the design variances are minimal: shape and size of a collar, type of button, fullness of sleeves and body, length and shape of hem. No designer creates a unique style, instead there will be dozens, even thousands of manufacturers, it's the fabric that makes it unique.

As Maggie mentioned, the fabric is soft and drapey, maybe a rayon or even a silk. Perhaps a polyester but I'd expect Mr Cruise to choose quality. You could search 'foulard' at Spoonflower and find a similar fabric or get one digitally printed at a local fabric printers.

I want to say Lanvin but I do not have any evidence to back this up, it’s just a guess.
I did another google visual search and somehow got a Lanvin tie to pop up with same shaped medallions. I found a couple other clothes that had the same shape (difficult, especially with a shape that doesn’t have a name), but the tie is the closest!
