:)Hiiii, first off thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I really, really love this purse and I’m having a hard time finding anything similar.

Does anyone by chance, know what kind of purse this is? Year it could’ve been made in? Designer? Any little clue that could give me some insight on how to find a purse identical to this. Please and thank you!!! Any suggestion or information is useful and greatly appreciated. Also, sorry about the quality of the picture.

The "backdrop" for the photo looks like a dress? If so, that purse is very small, only about 3 inches... the chain doesn't even look long enough to go around a shoulder without the purse hanging too high under the arm... on the other hand, it's a bit too large an item to hand round one's neck. It looks cylindrical, with the center wrapped in a velvet ribbon.
Where is the photo from? What do you know about it?

Hi, so I screenshotted and cropped this photo from an online thrift store. I guess I could’ve zoomed out a bit. I commented under the owner’s post before, about what kind of purse this is, but no response. So I thought I would reach out to others.

First impression to me was that it looked like possibly a purse from a Victorian chatelaine given the small size and general look but the chain just doesn't seem right to me, based on other examples I've seen online.

Too bad there's not another pic available to be able to get a better look.

Hope someone else can help! :)

I was thinking it might be a dance or compact purse, though these are usually worn on a wrist and have a short chain. I have seen them as pendants like this, but there's no way to tell from the photo.

UPDATE ‼️

I wanted to update you all (if you care) lol about my recent findings. Do you all believe in fate? Because I have searched and searched until I almost gave up. I can’t even remember what I searched but I found a similar purse online. I still can’t find the exact purse I’m looking for but it’s a start.

It’s called a “minaudière”. I’ve never heard of this term before. But A minaudière is a women's fashion accessory, generally considered a jewellery piece, intended to substitute for an evening bag.

The purse is by Mary Francis. I hope to buy this one because it is as equally beautiful to me. Thank you all so much for your help!!! Xoxo
