Need Help Identifying These Beautiful Buttons

hi everyone,

this is a cashmere red coat i picked up. just lovely. it has a red satin lining with a pleat down the middle of the lining. The pockets are lovely as well; they also have a pleat down the middle. but the beauty of this coat is its buttons! they are pretty heavy and are a gold/silverish metal with a beautiful red center. How would you describe these buttons? Is there a name for them? Are the buttons indicative of the era? The label in the photo is the only label on the coat. Thanks!

I would just call them "red jeweled gold toned metal buttons". Sometimes even pretty things come from the plain old marriage of plastic and painted metal. Its doubtful they're Bakelite or Lucite or real gold (which I'm sure you realize), but they are lovely just the same.

It's hard to get a peg on the dress, what is the material, the finishing, the tagging? It looks like it could have been from the Mod influence in short dresses from any number of years, even the last 4 or 5 years.

Thank you. No tag on the dress; its polyester/cotton. Has a white acetate(?) lining. Definitely handmade. Neat finishes but nothing special. Plastic white Talon zipper.

yea the more i stare at it the more i think so too. my cousin gave it to me swearing it was vintage, but my instincts say no.. i am totally in love with the coat tho! thanks. should i post on ebay or etsy?
