Need help plz! Antique cape

Hello

I recently purchased a floor length black cape from an antique booth that was having a sale. I paid $20 so I thought it was a good deal.

The cape is a soft warm almost terry cloth fabric (vintage wool flannel? Vintage chenille? ) it's lined in pale grey silk with a textured Ribbon trim at the bottom. The silk has had numerous repairs where it looks like it began to shatter in places. Especially around the shoulders and neck. There is no tag or label. There are two simple loops on the front of the capes opening for your arms. It is very fitted at the shoulders and neck, but has no collar. The shoulders were taken in at some point in its life.

I assumed it was a 1930-40s cape. But seeing how old the lining is up close and also seeing how the shoulders were taken in to become more fitted almost makes me think the cape is older and was modified in the 30-40s to fit the style at the time.

I would appreciate any help with what the fabric appears to be and if the cape is indeed 1930-40s.
The tag the antique dealer had on it simply said "Antique wool cape".

Please review the photographs I took with my ipad.

Thanks a lot!
