Oh, my gosh! Magda Makkay is still alive, living in New York. Her neighbor contacted me after seeing a post I wrote about this bag, and I just got off the phone with her.

What a charming woman! She's 88 and is still making handbags in her apartment. I'll be doing a blog post about her amazing life next week.

These are the kinds of things that really make this vintage fashion thing so worthwhile....I just love the fact that just by trying to explore the origins of this little purse, you have uncovered a treasure in this lovely lady!
