Need help with 2 COATS :)

Can anyone tell me what kind of fur this 50's swing coat is supposed to be copying? The sleeves are bracelet length and wide.

TIA...~Tori

Ok, I'll work on the white one later...

This 50's Coat I know for sure has a Mink Collar, it is new old stock with tags and has the CUTEST removable bow on the collar, how cool is that!
Tags state Natural Mink Collar and 100% Wool that feels as soft as cashmere.

They are beautiful coats!! The bow is very cool and the NOS WT is sweet indeed!!! I think the first is imitation dyed mink, but I'm a relative novice at furs.

I need a catchy title for the black nos coat...

Writing it up now and so far all I can think of is "ADORABLE NOS Vintage WOOL COAT w/MINK FUR COLLAR & BOW"

l agree that the first is mock/ imitation blonde mink with a twist! the wavy shorn lines is it?

the second is so sweet....l'd have em both...

That first coat is drop-dead gorgeous! I'm no fur expert, but it really doesn't scream "mink" to me, and does look like some sort of imitation sheared plush something or other. Sheared beaver, as Mary Jane points out, or sheared otter, which is very soft & plush/dense.

Really? You guys think the first coat is gorgeous even though its faux?

I think I'm going to go with blond mink, I asked my hubby what fur it was mimicking and at first glance he said mink.
The black one is the one I like.

Hey Tori! Just got back from Labor Day Weekend.

I think the first one would be imitating blond mink..that was my first thought anyway.

The second one I love. I just sold two coats and I put dress coat in the title. Seemed to help. Also black might be a good keyword, too.

:hiya: Linda, hope your trip was good!
Thanks for the tip, I revised my auction as well as increasing the starting bid, I'm NOT going to let that coat go for $39.99.

I never did list the other coat wasn't feeling to good today.

I've been sick since June and am going back to the doctor on the 12th, I have had this persistent pain in my right side under my chest that I thought was a bruised rib from coughing when I was sick, now after being told by a few people that it may be gastritus I googled it and they may very well be right!
Not only do I have this pain but my stomach has become so bloated in the last 2 weeks that I look like I am PREGNANT! HORRORS! Anyway, hopefully I will find out what the hay is wrong with me.

~Tori

Tori, so sorry you are still sick. DH had something like that last summer and they found out he had acid reflux. His stomach would swell up like a basketball.

Don't drink caffeine nor eat chocolate. Don't drink carbonated drinks or citrus ones. Don't eat peppermint (don't know why on this one). Watch the acidic veggies like tomatoes and fruit like oranges. I don't think milk is very good for you either.

I know there are other things to avoid. Just cannot think of them now.

Oh, and he takes a pill everyday which reduces acid. Can't think of the name of it but will let you know.
