I don't have a clue on the age of this
embroidered kimono. I believe it is
silk crepe, fully lined in silk and appears
to be hand sewn. Embroidery on back
with a bit on the front.

I had a heck of a time getting good pics of this.

Any info regarding date, etc., would be most appreciated.

I can't help with date, but what a beautiful kimono!

The kimono is lovely. By the fabric and pattern, it looks to me like the kind of kimono you may purchase at a department store in Japan. I'm not an expert by any means but I did live in Japan for two years. I think Kyoto's kimono museum has a Web site that may have information. I will see if I can find the link. Did you check current and completed listings on EBay? That might give you some ideas. I know there is book on kimono that might give you a way to date the fabric by pattern. I can't think of the book title off hand but if you use keyword "kimono" on Amazon or other book site, you can probably find it.

Please let me know if you list it. I can use it in a show I'm designing. Enjoy the day-it's sunny here but it looks as if the crazy severe weather is active again today-

Hi, thanks so much for the info! I googled "kyoto
kimono museum" but came up empty. I did find one
ended auction on ebay that had a kimono similar to this one:

here

unfortunately, the seller has removed most of the pics, but
it does look quite alot like mine.

I do plan on listing it on ebay. I was hoping for tonight,
but it may be Monday night now.

Our weather? Mild with rain this morning - it is now
SNOWING! urgh!

OKay, I'm basically winging this and listing it on it's own merit. It is going up tonight at 10:30 PST (that's if the Inkfrog scheduler and Ebay are insync).
