I would love your help in dating this dress - I think it is 1970s but thought maybe 1960's? Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you have any suggestions on how to describe it that would be great!

Thank so much!

Early 70s maybe... gosh, it makes me want to marry my guy... the lovelies winter wedding dress I've seen in some time.

Oh, I know - I love the lace and pleats together! Do you think I should date it as late 60's, early 70's? Is there a certain term for that type of pleating?

Thank you all so much for your help!

I love Alfred Angelo wedding gowns--my first one was one. In an era of fluff and puff and pouf, you would generally be able to find an AA gown with tasteful bodice embellishments and skirts that were perhaps lightly sprinkled with them--not encrusted so you couldn't find the fabric underneath....

I think this is early 70s, and I don't think it would date as early as the late 60s. I think 71/72 on it, but it's possible it could be a hair earlier. And, what is the fabric, can you tell? That could help to date it. I would call the pleating at the neckline "crystal pleats."

I used to have a very similar wedding dress with the high empire waist and the maxi style skirt from a lady who got married in 1973 so I would stick with a date of the "first half of the 70's" NOT 60's for this dress.
