That's actually a record set I found inside the luggage. No there's only a small tag that says BRIDGEPORT LUGGAGE and a Patton number on the handle.

They are alligator embossed...How wonderful that you have these. I have 2 pieces from my mother's honeymoon set from the late 1940s and yours look identical. Although it is hard to tell just from the photos. Can you show a close up of the leather? My set is not alligator, it is embossed/pressed leather made in an alligator pattern. Your "skin" looks more like embossed leather than real alligator, but I cannot be sure.
I treasure my set, be sure to store them well so they do not dry out or mildew.
