Need help with fur identification.

Any idea what type of fur is used on this gilet?

The garment is made of karakul lamb fur. It appears to be "broadtail" lamb which is fur from the unborn baby lamb. You can do some internet searches for examples of this type of fur.

Very pretty and while it looks similar to lamb I do not believe it is. It looks like Russian Pony to me. Broadtail Lamb has a smaller wavy, moiré like appearance throughout whereas Russian Pony has larger raised clusters of hair.
