Found at an estate sale...couldn't pass them up but now stuck on Style,Description,Age etc. Both are marked inside 'HENRI" but not Henri Bendel I don't think.
Era? Also, not sure if they are genuine leather or stained Naugahyde.
Feet appear to be brass but husband thinks they are plastic. Magnet does not stick.

New to the forum.
thanks for any help or suggestions.

I too have never seen anything like these. They remind me of mid century ice buckets.
Very interesting! Yes, they could be ice buckets, but don't think they would be lined in leather. The outside looks to me and feels to me like a faux leather perhaps naughahyde that has been sort of stained to look like wood. I'll keep looking and asking for help.
thanks for your interest
Love these...not familiar with that maker either.
How large are they?

I keep thinking they are a fancy case for a small wig, probably not but for some reason that thought crossed my mind.

I don't blame you for snapping them up at the sale, I know I would have!

Very interesting idea being small wig carrier. Don't know the correct use they were designed for, but could serve several purposes. perhaps for a man's toupee!
Thanks for you interest.

They kind of look like a carrier my Dad has for his Shriner's fez (but without the feet...and not angled in at the bottom). The bottom reminds me of a rocket.
Yes, I have sold some FEZ and boxes but I believe this to be too small and most FEZ boxes have an interior circle to hold the shape of the fez hat - but good thinking! These purses, although not identical in the 'leather' look, measure 19 1/2 inch in circumference and stand 7 1/2 inches tall (not including the handle). Thanks for your input!

Forgot to reply with size. 19 1/2 inches in circumference and stand 7 1/2 inches tall not including the handle.

They most remind me of collar boxes, though I agree the shaping inside would suggest it was made to hold something of a particular shape, but I'm leaning towards a menswear item from the scale.

I have no idea what they are but they are fabulous. Looks like there is some verdigris on one of the discs so I'm going with brass and it sure looks like real leather to me. The lining is definitely not Naugahyde, too thin, again it looks like real leather. The construction is beautiful quality from what I can see, LOVE the top stitching. They have a handsome look, so maybe a mens accessory holder, like Melanie said. What are the measurements?

Thanks for your reply. 19.5 inches circumference and stands 12 inches tall with fixed handle up. I am a seller on eBay and I have listed 1 of them at auction starting at $99 just to see what sort of response or views I may get. Because I could not confirm real leather, I listed as faux. Husband says the outside is not leather...I never want to mislead anyone.

I got this from a thrift store about a year ago - same maker and almost identical (the color and clasp are the only differences I can see). This one is definitely all leather.

Yours are the only ones I can find anywhere on the internet; did you ever list them on ebay, and if so, how much did they sell for?

Thanks for your help and input,
Laura
