Need Help With Men's Shoes

I'm just trying to figure out if these men's shoes are vintage or not. They are made by Johnston and Murphy. Through my research I see that this company is still in business but the label font looks 70s to me. Any help is appreciated!

Can you see any remains of a leather symbol on the sole? I would have said 70s or 80s.
Johnston and Murphy trademarked the Aristocraft range in 1951 and it was abandoned in 1984 so they are likely to date before this.

Thanks Melanie! There is a leather symbol still on the sole. It's the J & M in a circle with Made in the USA.

Thanks. The earliest I have found a leather symbol was on some 1968 english shoes but in general the material content markings begin to appear just before laws requiring this info came into force around 1970 worldwide.
That's the end of my knowledge about these shoes. I would also like to pin point this style down better as I have some too, one pair are maroon which would suggest late 70s to me but that's just a guess.
