Hello and thank you for taking the time to help!

This has faux fur trim and a single hook and eye closure at the top. It has a black cut glass flower on top of the closure.

The garment itself has a wide neck and is shaped like an A.

The stitching looks very amateurish, as if it was home made.

It looks and feels like cotton, no stretch though. Kindly flimbsy, definately not high quality.. as much as I hate to admit it lol.

Now that I look closer I'm thinking that the stitching looks more recent than 60s. Maybe 80's. If I remember correctly, the 60s were big in the 80's.

The stitching looks pretty recent.

I agree on the 60s thing, but if you're thinkning later then the flowery button could well be 80s or even early 90s? I remember a lot of mary quant style flower stuff then.

WOW!!

Thank you for the "mary quant". You hit it right on the head.
That gives me a direction to head in, even if it isn't 60's.

it looks a lot like a 60's negligee...probably part of a two piece..l realyl think its for the home...or bedroom...!!

Regarding the flower, to find out if it's glass tap it on your teeth. Glass will make a sharp clicking sound when tapped on the teeth. Manufacturers began making plastic buttons (and trims, etc.) that very closely resembles antique and vintage glass buttons in the 80's/90's. Of course, there are plastic buttons from earlier decades but the ones that are newer more closely resemble glass.

Most likely, if the flower is plastic it is probably from the 80's or 90's.

Anyone else have that thought?

Phew!! Now I know why eBay is so quiet! I went to the mall today and it was just as packed as it would be during peak holiday season! Unreal!

Anyway, the button is definately glass, and I don't think that this cape was meant to be worn as a home or leisure garment. Excellent suggestion though!
