Hi...would love some help gathering more info on these boots. These are leather boots lined with faux fur. The closure is a heavy duty metal zipper. Boot reads: Pitti-Palace Florence Patented No 431241 Made in Italy

Are these truly vintage boots or reproductions / what time frame / potential pricing ideas

You've probably googled the Pitti Palace so know it's a large building home to lots of museums. I was there recently so can tell you that Florence has a thriving leather goods industry and there are a lot of business nearby catering to tourists.

The face that the label is in English suggests tourist market. If you can show the heel side on and the underside it will help but from this photo I think they're likely '60s influenced perhaps from the '90s or early 2000s.

They look right to me for the late 1960s, possibly 1970 but no later. If they were a revival style, I might doubt they would use real patent leather, a faux fur lining and a big chunky side zipper like that. Just my 2 cents.

We have a shoe historian here who will probably eventually be by the forums to give an opinion.

I said the same, 60's or 70's. To die for....always, always wanted a pair of these when I was a kid. Never got them and have never forgotten how bad I wanted them....

HI D
I said the same, 60's or 70's. To die for....always, always wanted a pair of these when I was a kid. Never got them and have never forgotten how bad I wanted them....
Hi Dee Dee, amazing boots, they look like late 60's -early 70's to me, but lets wait and see what our shoe experts can share. And I share your pain- I wanted boots like these SO bad in the early 70's but was never allowed to have them.

Too funny--I had a (brown) pair just like this c.1970 and I HATED them because my scrawny calves got lost in them, and of course my mother insisted I wear them when even a single snowflake fell. A couple of "mean girls" once teased me about them, calling them Santa Boots. If I had only known then how desirable they'd become, I might have raised my chin with a haughty sniff!

(ps I agree, late 60s to very early 70s. My boots were also patent leather with chunky zipper and buckle on top, and the heel was black).
