Need Help With Vintage Skirt

Hello

I have this vintage skirt that I'm having trouble dating. It is made of taffeta and is full length. It fastens up the front with self buttons. It has a matching belt that I forgot to photograph. Seams are pinked. No labels. Thanks!

I would say 40s on this one. Have you tried it with the buttons on the side, the reason I mention this is that the chevron stripes are not quite matching up done up in the front.

I wonder if they may match up better if you turn the buttons to the left side.

Thanks Mary Jane. No I haven't tried that but it sounds like a good idea. What aprt of the 40's would you say?

I would say later 40s. I have had similar patterned dresses and a lot of lounging gowns with a similar striped from the late 40s and very early 50s.

I think MJ is right....I've seen lounging gowns made from this type of material, too! And, as she said, buttons on the side. It's very attractive!

I would agree, this sort of colorful stripe was quite common in the 40s.
