When I saw Wolverine, I assumed the company was in Michigan as the state uses the animal as its unofficial nickname, so (from a Pinterest post) I suspect this is the company that made your gown (emphasis is mine): "This is the original Wolverine Knitting Mill Building, on North Jackson Street, Bay City, Michigan. Wolverine Knitting Mill used to make bathrobes and other types of garments for Sears. Founded in 1919, Wolverine Knitting Mills used the facility at the intersection of Jackson and 11th Streets until 1974, when the company moved its headquarters to Lincoln Street. The company closed in the mid-1990s."
And from a 1989 Daily News record article (emphasis is mine): "WOLVERINE FILES CHAP. 11 PLAN DETROIT (FNS) -- Wolverine Knitting Mills, a robe, sleepwear and loungewear manufacturer, has filed a liquidating Chapter 11 plan..."
