Tori's and Shelley's vintage clothing lots have inspired me and I need to move some stuff out. And hopefull make some cash.

So I'm going to take the leap and list some better items.
Should I have one big lot or should I segregate be era? I have some 50s dresses and a few separates as well as severl 60s/70s cocktail and evening gowns? All together or two different lots? I would love suggestions.

Thanks, Kelly

I might not be the best one to ask. I tend to keep my lots, when i used to do them, in a certain size range so that the folks buying to wear wouldn't be left out. If you are appealing to a dress shop, maybe it wouldn't hold so true and they would want a range, but i find both groups being interested make for a good situation.

If you are doing a massive lot, I would just watch the shipping, but then if someone really wants it, that won't matter to them so much.

The last couple times I did lots I think I quoted shipping as $65.. but also said that because of the size of the lot (3 boxes!) and not knowing the destination... that I would refund any significant overcharge but that I also asked them to compensate any additional shipping costs.
I think that in any case it helps to assure the buyer that you're not going to try and gauge them on shipping... but it ain't cheap!

Come to think of it... my last 2 vintage lots went to the same buyer in Germany.

Hmmm, I'm more of a subdivider than a lumper-together, but it depends how desperate you are to get rid of it.

Really, the more items will go into each individual lot, the more likely they are to go to other dealers for possible resale in another medium.

Also, if it's mostly dresses, that's more of a resale prospect, I think. I'm planning a couple of lots soon, but they will be smaller and including different types of garment, so I'm going to subdivide them by size and type and sell for a possible wearer.
