Hi All,

I picked this jacket up a number of years ago at an antiques fair. I just absolutley loved it. However, it has some ink damage (it was there when i bought it, so i dont know how long ago it happened) and i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for how best to clean it up, if thats even going to be possible?

I have included pics of the jacket and the damage.

Many thanks in advance!

Jon

from the Woolmark website concerning removing stains from wool:

How to remove ink or ballpoint pen stains
1. For ball-point pen stains, gently dab with a lint-free cloth soaked in surgical spirit or rubbing alcohol. Press gently with an absorbent cloth or towel to soak up excess solvent. Do not allow to dry.
2. For water-based writing ink (pens which aren’t ball-point), gently dab with a lint-free cloth soaked in diluted Woolmark-approved detergent solution. Press gently with an absorbent cloth or towel to soak up excess liquid. Do not allow to dry.
3. Hand-wash using a Woolmark-approved detergent.

I have not tried these so this is no guarantee of any sort that it will work, I just googled your query. good luck!
