Need Some Help Dating This Jet Glass Necklace

I have this jet glass necklace. The round beads are strung on cording with a knot inbetween each bead. At first I thought the pendant was a scarab but after looking at it closer, I think it is a cluster of cherries or other fruit. The pendant measures 2 1/8" x 1 5/8". Any ideas or thoughts on this piece?

Yes, they *do* look like carved fruit, and I would guess peaches -- this is a contemporary Chinese piece. Very nice.

I wonder if it might not be black jade as it is an oriental piece.
Is it cold to the touch?

Yes, it is cold to the touch and clinks on my teeth like glass.

Carrie, I have a necklace just like yours and it is in a turquoise blue coloring. A friend of mind saw it who knows a lot about jewelry and she said it was not very old either.
