Gown or maxi dress I don't want to use hostess but I can see some gal wearing this to serve her guests Margaritas on the patio by the pool.

Early 70's?

Usually I am not one for frilly but I really like this for some reason.

Looks 70s to me and I think I can remember dresses similar to this. It's coming through lime green on my monitor and is that chiffon? If so, both good kws.

This is so pretty and should not be lost in all the poly maxis. I could actually see this worn out as an evening gown. Like the fuller skirt, too.

Yep Lime Green or Margaurita Green ?? And chiffon. I added a long crinoline underneath to show some fullness.

Cute! And definitely more of a Lime Sherbet on my Mac. Marguerita Green is sassy —in a good way.

It might be the pics, but isn't that a touch stiff for chiffon? Some parts look more like a fine organza to me. I often think of chiffon as more drapey.

Just a quick qu - why not 'hostess' as a keyword? Is it bad? I've searched under 'hostess gown' a few times on the idle search for one of these splendid full length/long line/display dresses, but it's not used much, right?

Chartreuse? (or is that darker...?)
 
Definitely 70's Pauline, I made a dress with a Spadea pattern in the 70s exactly in that style. Mine had a jacket to match.
 
Hostess gowns are something I love just because it reminds me of a time when ladies would dress up and have parties in the early 70's. ( Not my favorite era for clothes though) I would rather have a 50's dress for party giving but just something about those 70's parties. But its seems to be the kiss of death to name your gown a hostess gown people just don't seem to want them.

Kevin its just chiffon it took a bit for me to get that collar to stand up and quickly snap the pic.

Wow, it looked so much like organza to me, too. I have to agree on lime-sherbet-to-marguerita. I think chartreuse is more intense.

I'm seeing it at a therapist and his wife + his secretary + his neighbor, Howard + his office-building neighbor, Jerry + all his clients, Bob Newhart Show, party. :)
