Need some title help for this dress please

Black and white check ( and does moms old hat look ridiculous with it?) The hat is early 60's but I am thinking the dress is late 50's. Shawl (?) collar large double button double breasted front.

But I can't come up with a snappy title

Looks 50s to me and the hat looks fine.<p>I am terrible on titles. The shawl collar looks like something Sophia Loren would have worn if it shows a little cleavage.:D<p>Or maybe it is more a Doris Day dress. Need more coffee.<p>Black & White are good key words and check.
 
I like the hat with it even though the two would never have been worn together originally, but I can't think of any title help for you, sorry...
