need your help with this old velvet fabric. please

i have a picture of an old drees (1989 ) and i cant fine the name of the fabric of the dress

some says : herringbone velvet / indian velvet / jacquard >>>>>>>>

can someone help me pleeeeeeeeeeease

I'd call that pattern chequered chevrons, the fabric is velvet and lurex I think.

Are the metallic threads woven flat or are they loose threads like the velvet?

Have you handled this dress or do you only have a picture? From the pic i looks to me like a velvet that has been stencilled with a gold glitter paint.
