Needy, Please help on this old 50\'s ? Rayon Shirt

Hello,
I never have had the fortune of coming across one of these bad boys! I am guessing this is a 50's Rockabilly style shirt. It has white screen painted designs, cool sleeves with button detailing...fabric covered buttons, made by Flair California. The shirt is rayon...is this still worth listing if it has the fading and collar sweat stains and about 3 or 4 light stains on the shirt...no hole, tears or other kind of damages. I would clean it but would be affraid I would ruin it..any help, info would be greatly appreciated.

I keep coming back to this because one minute I think it's 50's. Then I think it's 70's. That white detailing on the sleeves is throwing me off, because it's pretty outre for the 50's. (Which makes it even better).

But the more I look, the more I see 50's. Does it have button and loop closure at the top?

Whatever the age, it is KILLER (as in Jerry Lee Lewis killer). I'm no help with the staining and cleaning - I personally would sell it as is, but I am not so good with the cleaning.

There is no loop, but the collar has a top button hidden under that way pointy collar. The sleeves are loose..the button detail is all for show. would the inner construction make a difference and the inside is all serged and the sleeves look like they were hand sewn around the arm hole seams.....the buttons I love the fabric ...they have a patented grippo back..if that is any help??

Great shirt! I'm going to go with early seventies because that collar is v-e-r-y large for a fifties and I'm not even sure if they had "XL" as a size in the fifties.....? Does anyone know? I haven't seen it before, but it might be different in the US?

The more I look at it, the more I'm inclined to go with 70's. Even for a 40's shirt the collar still would be...off? Not the correct shape for the large pointy earlier collars. It's really hard with this one, without having it in my hands, you know?

And as for the damage, most buyers aren't too concerned over inside collar damage, since it's unseen anyway. But there's nothing you can do to fix the fading or stains and that is going to greatly affect the price.

that is (er, was anyway) a killer shirt

i'm on the 70's wagon here, too.

as kim says, though, stains will affect price

in the photo, on my monitor anyway, it looks like the front/tummy (from the right chest area down) is darkened? or is that just a shadow???

The front and the back is darkened...nowit keeps bothering me that is isn't rayon...I think it is that thick acetate...the shirt has an irredesence and some ways you see the light hit the shirt the discoloration is not as bad...if that makes sense. I am going to go adjust my listing before someone bids...thanks!
