New exhibition - French fashion 1947-57

I have never heard of this
In 1954 the 'Couturiers Associés' – Jacques Fath, Robert Piguet, Paquin, Carven, Jean Dessès – founded the first haute couture ready-to-wear licensing company
I had read the couture association was founded in 1950 and was concerned with making pret-a-porter (someone asked about a Fath piece here a week or so ago), but then I understood it that the association disbanded in 1954 - I wonder if they morphed into a licensing board instead…

How strange! But you're right, I read your comment on the Fath. I only read the French text because that was the link they posted on Facebook, but I changed to the English text before posting the link here, and they don't say the same. I think the translation was a bit sloppy :horny:, if you read it in French, it actually says:
Dès 1950, « Les Couturiers Associés » – Jacques Fath, Robert Piguet, Paquin, Carven et Jean Dessès – fondent la première société spécialisée dans la diffusion sous licence de prêt-à-porter de couturiers.
