Just wanted to say hello! Just got my membership and am excited to be here!
I am not in the trade, but I am a costume historian/designer with an avid interest in vintage clothing of all periods. My focus of study is late Victorian/Edwardian artistic dress and dress reform. That was the focus of my senior thesis for Marlboro College six years ago, and I am still studying the topic.
I have costumed a couple of Shakespeare plays, designing or pulling the costumes, and I designed three dresses for my thesis project. The pictures are at Veda Crewe Joseph's site
I look forward to keeping an eye on the forum and being able to find, someday, an Aesthetic gown in good condition that hasn't been snapped up by a museum! Impossible, I'm sure, but I live in hope.
