New Look Dress? Need Help on These

I have a lot of dresses to list, so I may have some questions over the next few days.... :)

Some are quite definitely 50's I'm sure, but I'm not sure on the few like this.

Side zip, and a longer, more flowing skirt.
Would this be considered New Look?
(there is a "very stiff" cotton like fabric crinoline underneath)
And that trim is called passimetaire (sp?)
It's all over the bodice and skirt, back and front.

Is this a good time to list this type of dress?
Thanks! :)

Lynn -

Don't know if I'd call it New Look - that's a term I associate with with pretty strict tailoring and serious elegance... then again when I think New Look I think of Avedon's photo of Dovima? wearing Dior, in Paris - you know, the stock New Look look :)

I might be way off base, but I see this lovely dress as more of a later 50's RAB look. Long story short - wait for others' opinions!

I think it's safe to say that the curlicue embroidery could be called passimentarie (sp?!)

Geez - BUMP!

I agree with Carolyn - more a mid to later 50s look becuse of the fit of the bodice and the turquoise color. The crinoline sure works though - gives the skirt some zing. It looks like a picot braid used in passementerie style trim with rhinestone studded lace appliques.
